It should come as no surprise that storm chasers do not eat well while chasing storms. Storm chasers will often chase for up to 18 hours at a time non-stop. During the chase, chasers don’t have time to eat good food. Usually lunch and dinner is whatever we can find at a gas station. Often […]
This is why you should never attempt to drive across a flooded highway. This Toyota 4Runner got swept off the road just a few feet into the flash flood that was crossing this highway. Because it was night time, you can’t see that this flash flood actually extended about half a mile along the highway, […]
I took my 5 year old boys storm chasing today, and it was the best bust day ever! I started in Las Animas, CO. While everybody else was chasing the TOR WAR storm near near Lamar, I went south on 109 after what looked like a good cell. One other spotter network dot did the […]

We created a new logo for Severe Videos. We felt like the old logo focused too much on tornadoes. Since Severe Videos includes all types of severe events including fires, winter weather, and bad drivers, it was time to overhaul the logo to remove the emphasis on tornadoes. The new logo embodies the “severe” part […]

There’s a term in storm chasing called “Colorado Magic”. Colorado Magic refers to Colorado’s unique ability to produce tornados in less than favorable conditions – such as mediocre CAPE and weak shear – in the middle of August. While most storm chasers think the chase season ends in early June, the reality is that tornados […]
The SureCall Fusion2Go 3.0 Fleet cellular booster has been called the most powerful rugged in-vehicle cellular booster on the market. As as storm chaser, I was looking for a rugged solution that would work under the extreme circumstances that I face while chasing storms (100+ mph winds, severe rain, and very large hail). I tested […]
